Show Dr. Dello Dayton Ready for New Assignment to keep soot from coming in on his desk and books. Dr. Dayton has been at Weber ever since, except for a few years absence to obtain his doctorate at the University of California, Berkley, California in 1951 in history and a 15 month overseas military assignment during the Korean War. He served as military historian and was honorably released to inactive duty as a Major. He had also served from 1941-46 during World War II. Among positions that Dr. Dayton has held are high school teacher at Logan High School, in- “Development of individual and modular instruction in various academic areas at WSC is a direction in education that pleases me,” said Dr. Dello G. A don’t think this will ever replace in the teacher-student the traditional classroom but it’s an important adjunct to it.”’ Dr. Dayton will be working closely with academic Deans and the Dean of Continuing Education relating to the educational program. “One of my primary concerns will be to insure the existence of quality educational programs on campus,” said Dr. Dayton, “T’ll be particularly interested in indevelopment curriculum structional improvement and assisting me in this area will be a Dean of Curriculum who will report to me. This is the position I held formerly.” Dr. Dayton first came to Weber in 1946 on a temporary assignment. He had an office on a block downtown between Jefferson and Adams in the old red brick section called Central Building.
