Show SCAA Margaret graduated from Weber High, Weber State College and Utah State University. After graduation City she taught schools in for a few the Ogden years and then tried her wings in Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. Shortly after she returned to Ogden to teach in the Weber School District she filled in for her father when he couldn’t attend a WSC basketball game on his season ticket, and met up with her old friend from WSC days - Ned Favero. She said she is extremely pleased that Dick Myers, a former alumni president, atcepted the chairmanship of the alumni house committee, and is confident progress on the new building will proceed smoothly under his direc- tion. ‘““Every person we have talked to about the alumni house has been very supportive,’’ she continued, and added that the house is sure to make the alumni association more visible in the community and bring closer ties between the two groups. Other goals include updating alumni records, continuation of presidential scholarships, involving chapters more in plans for the organization as a whole, and a campaign to make high school students more aware of WSC. “T think we are loosing some of the ‘cream’ because high school students just aren’t aware of what Weber has to offer,’”’ she said. “‘The college is fortunate to have such a good faculty and some excellent programs,” she continued, and elaborated that WSC isn’t like some other colleges in the state where the good teachers are saved for the juniors and seniors. ‘““At Weber State you get to reap the harvest from the finest, no matter what class you're in,”’ she said. Dick Meyers (a past alumni pres- ident) has been named Chairman of the project and a committee of alumni board members has already begun putting together ideas. They are looking for a possible site on campus for its location, said Margaret B. Favero, alumni presidentelect. Some facilities to be included in the alumni house will be offices for the full-time staff of the Alumni Association and Development Fund. There will also be meeting rooms and possibly a dining room, Mrs. Favero noted. Funding will be by contributions from alumni and friends of the college.
