Show Class Notes MARK EVANS has been named to the United States delegation to the United Nations. MARYLYN directorship munity ‘Our Town’ Rates Praise The first production by the newly-formed Weber State College Alumni Community Theater, ‘Our Town,” rated praise from local critics and was a financial success, reports the Alumni Directors. Old Yearbooks Available Now The Alumni Association office on the Weber State campus has a limited number of yearbooks from past years available to interested persons at no charge. Those who would like to have one of the old annuals are invited to visit the office in Room 316 in the WSC Administration Building. They will be given on a first-comefirst-served basis. Yearbooks from the following years are available: 1972, 1971, 1969, 1967, 1966, 1965, 1964, 1963, 1962; 1961, 1960, 1958, 1957, 1956, 1955. 1954. 1948. Approximately 1,000 people attended the four shows, and audiences were pleased and responsive, says Alumni Association Director Mike Macfarlane. Ray Wight reviewed the play for the “Ogden Standard-Examiner.’”’ Among his comments were these: “‘ ‘Our Town’ offers a generally well-balanced cast with a number of area favorites included. In the top roles, Ted Bunnell as the stage manager who brings to life the bare stage and interpretation to the passing of years in a small New Hampshire village; Jan Noyes as Emily Webb, and Scott Jensen as George Gibbs, do excellent jobs.” Future Plans He described Mr. Bunnell’s commentary as “fluid and understanding,”’ Mrs. Noyes’ as “convincing,” in her role. Plans are under way for future productions to include Readers Theatre and musical productions. Interested members of the alumni and the community generally are urged to participate in Community Theater program, and positions are open for backstage personnel as well as performers. BOTT has completed a_ one-year internship at Rush-PresbyterianSt. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, and has opened a dental practice in Ogden. DR. SCOTT MALAN has graduated as a | doctor of dental surgery from the College of University, Loyola Surgery, Dental Chicago, Ill. He will serve a one-year internship at Chicago’s Hines Veterans Administration Hospital and plans to practice in Arizona. DR. LYNN G. WADE has received a doctor of medical dentistry degree with honors from the University of Oregon Dental School, Portland. Following three years service in the Air Force, he plans to open} practice in the Ogden area. MICHAEL S. LIPTROT has been appoint dean of students at the College of Santa Fe N.M. He received a bachelor degree from Weber State in psychology and his master’s degree from Colorado State University. He was director of housing at the college befor his new appointment. He had also worked as housing director at the University 0 Minnesota. |
