They have been invited to compete in the Marching Bands of America Intercollegiate Championship to be held in England, December 27, 1981. The championship will be held in cooperation with the British Marching Band Championship organization. Guest pianist Santiago Rodriguez will be featured at a solo recital on the 21st, and will appear in concert with the Symphonic Band on the 22nd. They will perform “Stravinsky Concerto for Piano — and Winds." The performance begins at 8 p.m. in the Austad Auditorium, Browning Center and tickets are $2. or combined tickets for $3. Mr. Rodriquez will teach a master class at 10 a.m., April 22, — members are endeavoring to raise funds to make the trip possible. They plan to sponsor one of the best drum and bugle corps in the United States at a show at Weber State June 29. They are also in the process of compiling a band cookbook to sell. Contributions are welcome. In addition to the Marching Band, Weber State has a Symphonic Band and a Pep Band called the Court Jesters.
