Dr. Sam Another activity planned by the Alumni Association will honor the Weber basketball team of 19581959 who won the national championship in the junior college division. Members of the team will be honored at a pre-game reception on the Weber State campus and during half-time of the Utah State University-Weber State Basketball game on Feb. 27 in Ogden. The reception will be held in the Skyroom beginning at 5:30 p.m. where movies of the team’s winning plays will be shown. Holmes, Lynn Burton, Mike and Val A. Receptions Planned Two receptions have been planned recently for members oi the Weber State alumni living in the areas where the WSC athletic teams have played. Prior to the Colorado State University-WSC game, some 20 alumni and their partners attended a reception hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hurst, WSC alumni who made arrangements for the event in Fort Collins, Colo. Gary Crompton, assistant athletic director at WSC and Don Spainhower, director of college relations, addressed the group, outlining plans for the special events center and telling about changes on the campus. Mr. Hall also attended. A second reception is planned for Jan. 19 prior to the San Jose State College-Weber State game in San Jose, Calif. Paul Bingham is the key alumnus in charge of this gathering. Mr. Crompton and Mr. Spainhower as well as Dale Gardner, WSC athletic director and John Peterson, sports information director, will attend. They will be competing for first and second place trophies, while the alumni group will sing during the judges tabulation and are not involved in the actual GOLFERS. GUESTS INVITED TO CONTEST IN SCOTLAND The For the first time in Weber State College history, members of the college alumni will participate in Songfest, a night of musical entertainment sponsored by the Associated Women’s Students on campus. Scheduled on Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center auditorium, the Songfest will include performances by 50 or more alumni of Weber State in two presentations, including one “fun’’ song.
