It will be of value to teachers and, even more important, be beneficial for our school children. Although teachers in the area have confidence in the training of other state institutions, they desire the flexibility and availability of a viable graduate program in the Greater Ogden area. In this way they can take courses that will fit into their educational program. Clark Puffer Executive Secretary Ogden-Weber Education Association Uniserve A program of graduate work leading to a master’s degree in education at Weber State College is long over-due. Weber has adequate facilities and a competent faculty to render this service. Such an assignment will result in better qualified faculty members in Utah school districts. The cost to the state per student for such work will not be increased and very likely will be reduced. And there are plenty of available candidates for master’s degrees to maintain economical and effective graduate programs in the two public universities of the state. I sincerely hope that the members of the Utah Board of Regents will give this program their full approval and support. William P. Miller President Emeritus Weber State College —_— Dr. William P. Miller ee ere Alan Nye The business community of Ogden is very enthusiastic about this limited graduate program. We recognize the savings our local educators can effect while increasing their capability to teach our children, as well as the general enrichment which will come to the College program. Weber State is big industry in Ogden. It is appropriate that the institution be allowed to expand in this area of service to the community. John Lindquist President Lindquist and Sons ’ As a community we spend more for education than for any other single endeavor. It is vital that the teachers empowered with the end result of this expenditure have the opportunity for local continuing education in their profession, a profession that necessitates a lifelong educational updating. Therefore, the establishment of a graduate program in education at Weber State College is of paramount importance to our area. Alan Nye Secretary-Treasurer Fred M. Nye Co. Em Com |
