Show Price launches new era The later 1920's and 30's were difficult depression years but with the 40's and World War Il came a resurgent use of the railroad... at one time, during World War Il, as many as 120 passenger trains left the depot every day. otherwise known as the ‘‘Throw'in station was saved by Ogden city leaders and organizations and dedicated to serve as a “multi-purpose community center.’ It will serve as a railroad station for the running of Amtrak services and railroad company offices; as a community center-with convention facilities and the Browning theatre; as a museum with an historic railroad display and Browning firearms, and as a commercial facility-with the establishment of space for various businesses and restaurants... reflecting the history and values of the Ogden community. that I was ready to take on the taskof being a head coach, especially after the year we had at Missouri this past season. Price was one of five finalists for the| J posi’ ion. The others were: Dennis ” Associates, Inc., of Cambridge, Mass. and a former faculty member at several colleges and universities, is occupying the Willard L. Eccles chair of business and economics at Weber State College. Dr. Sterling D. Sessions, dean of the WSC School of Business and Economics, said he will serve in that position during the 1980-81 and 1981-82 school years. The Eccles professorship was funded by a grant from Willard L. Eccles, Ogden businessman and financier, to give the school an opportunity to bring in outside specialists who can serve as a resource to the regular faculty and to businessmen. Dr. Spencer said he is also working on written applications for federal and other grants in addition to doing some teaching. He is also working to increase emphasis on program development and encouraging research through workshops and seminars. A California native, Dr. Spencer came to Utah with his family and went through public schools in Salt Lake City. He obtained a bachelor degree in psychology from the University of Utah From there he went to the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor for master and Ph.D. degrees, both in organizational psychology. In this consultant work with Abt, he has worked with such major corporations as General Motors, John Hancock Insurance, Alcoa, and the U.S. Navy and Army. He has had numerous research papers end articles published in professional publications. He has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Brigham Young University, Wayne State University and has a teaching fellow at Michigan. The 34-year-old Everett, Washington native has a wide variety of football coaching experience behind him. For THELMA K. STUART, Layton, has been elected to serve as president of the Licensed Practical Nurses’ Association of Utah. Mrs. Stuart has been District No, 2 president and a board member at the state level. She is presently employed at the Veteran’ Administration Medical Center and has also worked at Dee and South Davis hospitals and the Kaysville Medical Center. She is a graduate of the Weber State College Practical Nursing Program. SUZANNE RICHINS, WSC graduate, has been named head nurse of the McKay-Dee hospital emergency t. She is a nine-year operating room veteran and has also served as clinical coordinator and inservice coordinator. She is currently enrolled in an advanced study program through St. Joseph’s College in North Wyndham, Mass. where she expects to spend some on-campus time the summer of ’81. the past three seasons he has served as the quarterbacks and receivers coach at Missouri under Coach Warren Powers. In each of those seasons, including the current 1980 year, the Tigers have received a post-season bow! bid. Under Price’s guidance, current Tiger quarterback, Phil Bradley, became the Big Eight Conference’s all-time total offensive leader and this year led the league in passing. A 1969 graduate of the University of Puget Sound, Price played quarterback and defensive back for the Loggers and was named co-captain and Most Inspirational Player during his senior year. SCOT GILBERT ADAMSON, 1980 business management graduate from WSC, is attending the American Graduate School of International Management at Glendale, Arizona. Upon graduation, he spent two years as a graduate assistant, then KENT H. COLLINS has been admitted to the Utah State Bar and is now employed by the Salt Lake law firm of Holme, Roberts & Owen. He received his B.S. degree in political science from WSC, graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors and was the Outstanding Political Science graduate in “77. In 1980 he received his Juris Doctorate degree from BYU, where he was a J. Reuben Clark Scholar and a recipient of the Hugh B. Brown Barrister’s Award. He was also managing editor of the BYU Law Review. In 1971, Price landed his first full-time coaching position back at ROBERT H. BISCHOFF has been appointed a director of Idaho Bank & Trust Co. He is president of Commercial Security Bank. An Ogden native, he is a graduate of Weber State College and a certified public accountant. Prior to joining CSB in 1956, he was with the U.S. Navy in WWII and the Korean conflict. He has been active in a number of community cultural and service organizations. DAN M.
