Show Monday, January 8, 1934. This PM at 2 Myself & the other three RS Stake presidents drove to SLC to meet with Pres. Louise Y Robinson and Counciler Amy B Lyman in regard to our possition and part in the Community Chest which will be organized very soon here in Ogden. I have been invited to act as one of the Chest Council and wanted their advice as to what I should do. They advised me by all means to accept. As they considered it an honor to be asked. D Orr took us down. We arrived home quite early. Before going I did hand laundry and considerable telephoning. This evening I finished writing up my diary of 1933. Tuesday, January 9, 1934. At one PM I met with other citizens called to a luncheon at Hotel Ben Loman to hear the advantages of a Community Chest for Ogden by Mr Barr who has been brought here by the Chamber of Commerce. There were about twenty representative people present. After due consideration organization was put over with Mr Hemmingway as Pres. George Eccles 1 Vice Mrs. Geo Fister 2 Vice Mr Sebert Sec. I cooked a nice dinner & Dr & I ate alone. Recd a letter from Avon. |
