Monday, July 9, 1934. Cleone is thirty eight years old today. Oertel and Oscar gave a nice dinner at the White Elephant out on 12 st in her honor. Those present were Royal her husband, Oertel, Oscar Junior, Blanch, Mary, Janath, Maren, Dr & I, Joe & Myrene. This AM I went shopping with Mary. Other than telephoning some I have accomplished very little. Mrs. Lettie Manning & Mattie Read called on me in regard to the DUP sponsoring a pagent Sunday July 23 in the eveing. Pioneer life to be depicted. Mr John Shauney of the Community Service called me in regard to placeing an order with the Government for cotton yardage & cotton for quilts & mattresses to be made for the needy this winter. Tuesday, July 10, 1934. Mount Ogden Stake Relief Societies Work & Buisness day was spent seeing demonstrations at the Paint Oil & Glass also recovering fruniture at Boyls Furniture Store. I could not attend as Mrs. Brewer & her daughter Morfic gave a luncheon for Oertel and Mary. Ten were present. The afternoon was spent in conversation and telling of Mrs. Brewers & the girls Margie & Myrenes trip East. June Smart & Mr Maw called they are here on buisness. This eve. Oeretl & Mary went to a show. Dr went to a directors meeting at Layton. I wrote to Mrs. Bickell and several other people. I am taking most of the care of David that Mary may enjoy her visite. He and Robert are very dear babies we shall miss them when they go home.
