Show Monday, November 26, 1934. We arrived at Ventura whe Thair had been in practise for two years with Dr Royal Hendricks about noon. All had lunch with Royal and wife Lottie and then Myrene & Cleone drove into Los Angeles. Mr. Baldwin Clark and Lottie took Dr. & I by auto to Santa Paula to see Mrs. Chas Jensen a relative of my mothers a beautiful ride thro orange & lemon grover here we saw the largest lemon or chard in the world The Lemonarie Ranch owning it. Mr Jensen is one of the over seears & Chester (or Mamie) Royals mother had dinner with us at Royals. Dr Reed Rich & wife Alice also spent the evening here and we enjoyed the visite very much. Retire late & remain over night with Royal. Tuesday, November 27, 1934. This AM Dr Reed Rich & Alice drove to Los Angeles and we went with them. A nice ride went up in the mountains to a CCC Camp to meet a Dr Oldarn a friend of Reeds. We enjoyed lunch with the CCC boys and was much interested in seeing their set up. Called on Dr & Mrs. WH Petty & they invited us to stay at their home while in LA which we did. Spent the afternoon looking around Hollywood. The girls met us. We called to see Drs sister Nanie who is now 81 and not very well. The girls are staying at Almsteads friends of Cleone. |
