Show Wednesday, October 17, 1934. A most beautiful day. Spent most of the forenoon at my house work and preparing lunch. This noon had lunch at the Country Club a guest of Mrs. Mary Scowcrof Peery and Mrs. Fletcher Scowcroft. It was very nice but as I do not play cards would have prefered to have been home reading. However I was obliged to stay as I do not drive a car and was with friends. I went to Relief Society Board in the 12 Ward this evening. Social Service lesson given by Delora Hurst Jesus and Human Welfare. If we could but do our work as he did. Dr has spent the evening reading. Have had a very full day when home many phone calls. Thursday, October 18, 1934. Mrs. Valborgh Wheelwright the Social Service RS Board member called in regard to placeing a widow women in housework. Mrs. Lindstrom & Mrs. Wooley Pres & Com. of RS 14 Ward called to get some used coats for those who need them. Mrs. Ally Pond called on phone about Magazine (RS) drive. I made appointments with the other three RS Stake Pres to meet here and divide used coats which were given for our Relief Society by Mr. LeHan a merchant. This 2 PM I attended funeral service of Mrs. Ida Petterson Haines a young mother 24 yr old who died in child birth. This evening it is raining some Dr is at a Medical meeting and I shall continue to write up my diary for I have several weeks to record. |
