Show Friday, April 20, 1934. Mrs. Harold Day called to show me a line of knitted dresses she is taking orders for. Very lovly but am not buying anything extra. Mr. Howard Jenkens called. Spoke to him about placing a social worker Mrs. DR Wheelwright as he is chairman of FERA. He wishes me to remain chairman of womens division of FERA until May 1. Have spent the afternoon cleaning closet of Drs. also china closet & side board etc. Am rather tired so shall retire by ten PM. Royal and Cleone came in for a while this evening. Saturday, April 21, 1934. Have cleaned bath room and breakfast room today. Erastus Merrill did the cleaning of cealing & walls. I have cleaned cubbords & drawers all day. Am quite tired tonight. Had a card from Avon saying Carlin had fallen out of the auto when she (Avon) was driving 40 mi on hr but lit on soft shoulder of the road and was not seriously hurt tho her ears & nose bled some. |
