Sunday, November 18, 1934. I attended Union meeting also have been buisy preparing to start for California in the morning with Dr, Cleone and Myrene. Donald Cozzens my nephew and his wife and baby came will stay all night here. Dr and I had dinner with Blanch and Junior. Monday, November 19, 1934. We arrived at Winnamucca Nev at 6 PM. Dr and I got up at six thirty this AM. I finished packing we had breakfast. We left here at 914 oclock for Cal. Myrene is driving her car. Cleone is also going. We are all primed for a nice trip our first togather. Just out of Ogden it started to snow and beliven here and Salt Lake it was so cold Dr had to get out every few minutes and get snow and ice off the wind shield. We got chains for car at Joes garage in SLC and went on our way. It snoed until we reached Grantsville then cleared and we made good time. We ate lunch in the car to save time and drove from 50 mi to 70 mi an hr the rest of the way to where there was no ice. After lunch Dr drove for awhile on a dugway going rather slow skidded and we had a very narrow escape from death no one hurt. Two men Mr. J A Mount and RB Collins assisted in righting the car. No one hurt.
