Show Sunday, October 7, 1934. Sunday morning Dr and I usualy read the morning paper in bed. It being Fast Day we did not eat breakfast. We listened in to General Conference and was very pleased to hear our new Apostle David O McKay speak. He never spoke better we thought also Rubin Clark gave a wonderful & very spiritual talk. We had a nice lunch and then drove to Salt Lake to attend the afternoon session of Conference as the radio broadcast the Ball games which did not intrest us. Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas went with us. Junior called this evening. Monday, October 8, 1934. Did some shoppng for myself today bought a new brown dress, shoes, gloves and hat. Was a guest of Martha Societys founders day, as I was a charter member. However I remained a member a very short time. It was organized twenty years ago or more. This evening Dr & I went to hear Leland Monsen on the Book of Mormon. We enjoyed it very much and will continue to hear his 12 lectures if possible. |
