Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Friday, June 15, 1934. Have had a very buisy morning as Mary is going to Salt Lake will leave David here with me. This is my dear Sister Luciles birthday she is twenty years younger than me. A sweet lovly woman and I love her very much. To bad to be so far apart her home is in Scarsdale NY. I sent her a nite letter. After lunch Bertha Eccles Wright and I called to see Mrs. Wade Johnson on behalf of Pres. Aron Tracy of Weber College. She is a member of the State School Board. We are anxious he be retained as President. We also drove out to Harrisville to see Fred Taylors wife who passed away. A dear friend of mine. This evening My counselors and Board members of Mt. Ogden Stake called at the home of Sister Delphia H. Gragun who passed away Tues. She was president of the Ninth Ward Relief Society and a very fine one. She has acted many years. Also called to see Pres Frank Stratford who passed away a fine friend. Saturday, June 16, 1934. Pop had a Fathers Day letter from Myrene in NY last nite. Mary went to Salt Lake with a friend Harry Allen. I am careing for David he is very dear, and a very buisy baby a mass of golden curls deep blue eyes. Mary called over telephone to see if he is OK. She will stay tonight return tomorrow. So glad she is having a good time as she has been very devoted to him (David) the past sixteen months. Maren Eccles his cousin stayed with him while I attended the funeral service fo a very dear friend and Acacia Club. member Mrs Fred G Taylor or Lottie. One of the most satisfying services I ever attended 12 Ward Chapel crowded, the most beautiful flowers (which Acacia took charge off) that I have ever seen and wonderful praise and honor given her by Bishop Brown of Harrisville Bro quincy of Logan, Prof Howard Driggs of NY Pres Heber J Grant also Apostle Smoot. We shall miss her very much in our Acacia Club.
