During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Wednesday, June 27, 1934. Oertel & Robert had a picture taken for the paper. Today I made raspberry jan and have spent some time at the telphone on Relief Society buisness. Oscar has been to the Hospital for examination by Dr regarding his health. May have gall stones. Janath has been with Maren a few days but is here tonite & Carol is with Cleones girls. The two babies Robert 11 mo old & David 16 mo old keep us quite buisy. Both are on secdule & belive me one or the other has to have some thing seen to every hour it seems like. David gets up at 6am has breakfast sits on duck playes in yard awhile is bathed and put to bed at 10 am has his lunch especially prepared at 12 to 1 pm cleaned up & playes or is looked after until 3 pm & to sleep again sleeps from one to two hr playes around until 530 to 6 pm has his dinner & goes to bed. Robert about the same. Thursday, June 28, 1934. This AM I went down town & bought apricots for Jam. bought them at 65 cts for a lug of 20. Very nice too. Oscar & Oertel took their girls & Cleones (except Myrell) up to come springs. I fixed a nice lunch for them. Mrs. Kay R a girl friend of Marys came from Salt Lake to visite with her. They went to a tea at Mrs. John Brownings Jr. I did up the washing. After which I went out to Lorin Farr Park to Field Day of the DUP. Dr called for me at six on his way from golf & we went to a dinenr party at the Country Club given by Blanch & Junior for Mary & Oertel. Ten were present. It was very nice we afterwards went to a show. Kay stayed over nite with us. Dr & Oertel did not go to the show with us but went to the colored church to a concert given by the members of same. |
