Saturday, March 17, 1934. Breakfast at 9 AM. Went down to Community Welfare to get some mail. discussed sewing room project with Mr. C Wheeler and others. Mr Adamson of Univeristy of Utah called me over phone to advertize a lecture or book review to be given by Mrs. Christain Jensen on Anthony Adverse by Harvey Allen on Mar 26 8 PM in Central Junior. Did my shopping prepared lunch & made 13 telephone calls by 12 PM. Mrs. Rose Nielson spent the afternoon with me and we cut out silk blocks enough for a quilt diamond pattren. Dr & Dr Junior operated a bad case tonight. Sunday, March 18, 1934. Dr and I slept late and then read the morning paper in bed. Had only grape fruit for breakfast and at twelve PM had a nice lunch at Dicks Caf. Cleone & Junior called. George Rich & Lettie his wife called. Dr & I went up to Myrenes a whiel to see the children. This evening Dr went over to Pres by terian church to hear a talk on the recent earth quake. I attended Relief Society Conference in the Ninth Ward. Was disapointed in the programme as it was more music than I care for in such a Conference. 13000000 people have been killed in earthquake the past 4000 years. About one tenth of that are killed every yr by autos.
