Show A few of the Easter Egg hunters—April 3, 2010 Man steals purse, leaves his car MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE —Authorities are looking for a man who snatched a woman's purse in front of a gas station, then crashed his vehicle in a field and escaped on foot. A woman called 911 around 5:15 p.m. Monday and reported a man had taken her purse at the Pilot gas station at 1670 W. 12th St. The suspect took off in a white Dodge four-door vehicle, but the victim followed him in her vehicle. Authorities say the man may have realized he was being followed and ditched his car in a field in Marriott-Slaterville. Weber County Sheriff's deputies combed the field with police dogs Monday, but have not been able to locate the man. However, authorities have an idea who the man is, said Lt. Matthew Bell.
