Show Marriott-Slaterville History March 2010 Councilman Scott VanLeeuwen has been attending the UDOT meetings on Legacy Highway, and feels comments are falling on deaf ears. He reports that the fire district ambulance agreement is going to take place. The March issue of The Pioneer Post reported Vital Statistics for 2009, listing 20 births in our city, with 15 deaths occurring. The March Senior Health Connection Newsletter featured a guide for Seniors with suggestions for good communication in talking with their doctor. Bits and Pieces Myrna Smout Meyerhoffer celebrated her 80^ birthday with an open house held on March 13, 2010, at the Marriott-Slaterville Senior Center. One of Marriott-Slaterville's prestigious native sons, Dr. Merle Ekins Allen, died on March 3, 2010. Highly influential in the scholastic world, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a former mayor and city councilman of Ogden City. He is a brother of H. Orvil Holley. 133 |
