Show Disposal of Medicine September 30, 2010 DISPOSE OF ME i ffln At our medication drive-up and drop-off event Saturday, September 25 we collected 285 pounds of pills from members of the community to be disposed of properly. This will improve the environment , as well as prevent prescription drug abuse and misuse. Safe Use: Prescription drugs should be used only as directed, under the supervision of a doctor. Federal law requires that prescriptions be used only by the person for which it is prescribed, and according to the use instructions on the label. Safe Storage: Keep prescription drugs in a safe place, and dispose of them properly when finished Safe Disposal: Flushing prescription drugs can be harmful for the environment, and leftover prescriptions can put people at risk for substance abuse.
