Show Happy Birthday October 10, 2010 An Invitation for Women October 30, 2010 Stanger Marilyn Law Stanger of Marriott-Slaterville will celebrate her 80th birthday today, Oct. 10, at a family dinner in her honor. She was born on Oct. Stanaer 10' 1930' in btanger Tw-n GroveS) Idaho, to Leland U. and Geneva M. Law. She is the middle child of three sisters and has three younger brothers. She spent the first 12 years of her life in St. Anthony, Idaho, and then moved with her family to Ogden. In 1948, she graduated from Ogden High School. She married Grant Stanger in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple on June 30, 1948. They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. A member of the Marriott- Slaterville 1st Ward, she has held many ward and stake callings in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women organizations. She is a member of Susan Marriott Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was active in the Weber School District PTA. She was a school lunch unit manager for Weber County schools until 1968, then worked at the Internal Revenue Service for several years before retiring. She supported her children by attending their activities and continues that support for her 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Two more are expected soon. Other interests and hobbies include sewing for family and friends, reading, crocheting, making quilts and cake decorating. She enjoys making many family members their favorite foods. Her children and their spouses include Susan and Kent Fuller, Eden; Doug and Marilyn Stanger, Kaysville; Jan and Lynn Larsen, Price; Mark and Debbie Stanger, Plain City; and Criss and Todd Wheeler, Plain City. Christian women invited to event MARRIOTT- SLATERVILLE—Area Christian women are invited to attend Church Women United's annual World Community Day celebration next Saturday, Nov. 6, at First United Methodist Church, 1339 W. 400 North. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will follow the theme "Building the Beloved Community." Registration is at 9:30 a.m. Those participating are asked to donate $3 to cover lunch and to bring canned goods, paper products or other nonperishable items to be donated to SHARE.
