Show Marriott-Slaterville History April 2010 A lot line amendment for Christopherson (aka Christoffersen) Subdivision at 2070 West 500 South is proposed. The property is zoned A-1 and includes two parcels. The City and the Special Service District would like the boundaries adjusted to roughly match the existing fence line. Staff is still working out the details on the final survey. Christophersons will pay the survey fees. The Council voted in favor of the motion. Mr. Morris gave the annual training presentation on the Open Meeting Act and answered Council questions. He then gave a training presentation on Unlawful Discrimination and Harassment. This included the process of filing and processing a complaint. He answered questions on this topic. The Council discussed the upcoming July 4* Celebration and reviewed comments from last year. Council members were assigned the same jobs as last year. The Council would like additional help serving lunch. Our quiet community apparently isn't as quiet as we have thought. A drug bust occurred on Pioneer Road recently. The Weber County Strike Force found meth being sold from a house on Pioneer Road, but apparently it was not being made on site. Councilman Scott VanLeeuwen reported that the Weber County Fire Station has two new ambulances that are now available. UDOT and WFRC appreciated the attendance at the open houses in February concerning the West Davis Corridor Environmental Impact Statement. Comments can be submitted on line at www.udot.utah.gov/westdavis or westdavis@utah.gov., or be mailed to 466 North 900 West, Kaysville, UT 84037. More information about the study can be found at the city website. Our city has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for the fifth year. This national recognition honors the city for its commitment to community forestry. Mayor Keith Butler, Mr. Morris and Jonathan Saunders accepted the Tree City USA Award at a ceremony in West Valley City in April. Following the adjournment of the City Council Meeting, the staff and Council met with about 30 residents for the dedication of the park at City Hall. The beautiful park north of the City offices was dedicated on April 15, 2010, as the Clifford and Elizabeth Blair Park. The dedicatory prayer was given by Brent Perkes of the Parks Committee. The event also celebrated Arbor Day. Bits and Pieces Curtis and Michelle Hodson had a baby boy, Lucas James Hodson, born on April 5, 2010. Emmery Rebekah Moss, daughter of Jacob and Shelley Moss, was born April 24, 2010. Connie Brown celebrated her 90th birthday in April. Gary and Susan Nye celebrated their 50*h wedding anniversary in April. 135 |
