Show Obituaries 2010 Louise McFarland Hodson MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE Mae Louise McFarland Hodson, 87, passed away November 1, 2010 in South Ogden. She was born November 10, 1922 in Ogden, the daughter of Floyd Tracy and Ruth Estella (Bair) McFarland. She attended Mound Fort Jr. High and Ogden High. Louise married Carl William Hodson June 12, 1941 in Salt Lake City. She lived in Marriott for 75 years. Though tiny in size, Louise had a feisty spirit that remained evident even in her final days. As a young mother she cared for two small children while Carl attended basic training and served in WWII. She worked outside the home at Amalgamated Sugar, DDO, Wahlquist Jr. High, Sierra Lingerie, and she also served as a truck driver for Carl's hay hauling business. Her most important work was raising her eight children, guiding them to be successful and keeping them close as a family. Louise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints where she served as a primary and Sunday school teacher, President of the MIA, and President of the Relief Society. She enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, painting, games, Sunday drives, visiting Millsite and doting on her grandkids. She collected Merry Moo-Moos and loved decorating her home for each holiday. Most of all Louise enjoyed spending time with her husband. Throughout their lives together they always called each other Hon. Louise is survived by her husband of 69 years, Carl; children Launa Barrow (Blaine), Brent Hodson (Rae Dene), Charlene Ottley (David), Joan Poulsen (Roger), Ron Hodson (Wendy), Terrie Phillips (Kendell) and Judy Symes (Gary); 32 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Floyd McFarland Jr. (Eva); sister, LuJean Stuart; and son-in-law, Thane Ritter. e was preceded in death .by her parents' daughter, Nancy fffiter; -granf&ughter, Taffli^ Barrow; great-granddaughter, Sarah Mitchell; and sister, Mar- jorie Walker; Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Marriott-Slaterville 1st Ward Chapel, 250 North 1500 West. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 5th at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., or from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
