Show The Pioneer Post Volume XII Issue 9 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter September 2010 local updates The reconstruction of 400 North is being plagued with utility problems from all of the underground utilities in the road. Currently the project is one month behind schedule. Completion of the road is now extended to mid- November. Landscaping and sidewalk construction may extend into 2011. With school now open traffic delays have increased. However, businesses on 400 North are still open. The city apologizes for traffic inconveniences and looks forward for the completion of this project. Slaterville Park was severely vandalized the last week of August. Surveillance shows several cars driving onto the park, crushing irrigation headgate, and damaging the grass soccer field. The kids then spray painted the new bowery. CSI is investigating this vandalism. Any information that can lead to the apprehension and prosecution of these individuals is appreciated. Also, report any unusual activities at city parks or in your neighborhood to dispatch at 801 -629-8221. In case of an emergency call 9-1 -1. With fall arriving, all city parks will be shut-down for the season and winterized around mid-October. Slaterville Park will be open until Halloween. Sleepy millcreek ticllcw Sleepy Millcreek Hollow is again coming to the western woods of Marriott-Slaterville this October. The festivities open at 5 PM on October 7, 8, 9, and 14, 15, 16, and 21, 22, 23, and 28, 29, 30. This year again features the Millcreek Hollow Market, Spooky Story Forge, the Scarecrows of Sleepy Millcreek Hollow, and the infamous Trail of Terror. Sleepy Millcreek Hollow will have something for everyone in the family! Located only 1.5 miles west of Exit 346 off 1-15, Sleepy Millcreek Hollow is the best family value for October fun at only $3 per person. Ticket price includes shopping the Millcreek Hollow Market, strolling along the scarecrow displays, enjoying the family oriented entertainment and hearing some spine tingling tales of terror at Spooky Story Forge, where our story tellers will spin their yarns nightly beginning at 7:30 PM by the light of the forge. The Trail of Terror is only $6 per person; and is geared for those brave enough to test their courage in the shifting darkness of the western woods. It opens after dark. Visitors to the Trail of Terror are warned to be in good health and able to run! Set-up starts at 5:30 PM, and treats start 6:00 PM sharp. Come circle the wagons around the haunted grounds. Feast on hot dogs, donuts, and hot chocolate. There will be candy galore and prizes. Items can and will change. Ogden-Weber State Transit Study You are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss findings from the Ogden-Weber State Transit Corridor Study. The study was initiated in December 2008 to evaluate transit alternatives between Union Station and Weber State University.
