Show JOHN G. IS A HARD-DRIVING DEMANDING MAN WHO DEMANDS EVEN MORE OF HIMSELF THAN OTHERS. HE WANTS IT DONE YESTERDAY. HE WOULD HAVE LIKED IT EARLIER BUT DIDN'T WANT TO APPEAR UNREASONABLE. LIKE THE GIRL IN THE CARTOON AT THE WATER FOUNTAIN WHO IS SAYING TO THE BOSS, "THE WALL STREET JOURNAL MAY VIEW YOU AS A GENIAL CAPTAIN OF INDUSTRY BUT AROUND THE TYPING POOL YOU'RE STILL ATILLA THE HUN." NOT SO JOHN G. IN BANC ONE THEY DISTINGUISH THE SON FROM THE FATHER BY "JOHN THE GOOD" AND - WITH AFFECTION - JOHN THE BAD." BUT NO NEED FOR WORRY - THIS ISN'T A CASE OF THE OWNER ELEVATING HIS SON, FOR THE MCCOYS OWN ONLY 1% OF THE STOCK. MCCOYS GET THERE ON MERIT. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN IN THE MCCOYS, BANKING SKILL IS HEREDITARY. I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE THE IMPRESSION JOHN G. IS ALL BUSINESS. HE HAS BEEN A FINE CITIZEN OF HIS COMMUNITY, A LEADER IN BANKING ORGANIZATIONS, HAS RECEIVED TWO HONORARY DOCTORATES. AND IS A TRUSTEE OF HIS ALMA MATER, MARIETTA COLLEGE. IN WORLD WAR II IN 1941 AND 1942 HE SERVED AS CHIEF FINANCIAL ADVISOR TO THE WAR PRODUCTION BOARD BEFORE BECOMING A NAVAL OFFICER. 15. |
