Show SIRE INTRODUCES GLENN ASH THANK YOU, WILL. I'M GLAD YOU AND DAN DIBERT TOOK THAT ASSIGNMENT TO "CLIMB THE RIGGING." PERSONALLY I TRY NOT TO GET ANY HIGHER THAN I CAN GET IN THE CARTOON ROOM. NOT EVERYONE WORKING ON THE BRIDGE SURVIVED. Two GROUPS OF WORKERS FROM SEPARATE COMPANIES GOT FEUDING WITH EACH OTHER AND SO ONE GROUP SNEAKED IN AND EMBEDDED A PAIR OF SHOES IN THE WET CONCRETE POURED BY THE OTHER GROUP . WHEN THE CONCRETE HAD HARDENED AND THE SECOND GROUP STRIPPED THE FORMS AWAY AND DISCOVERED THE SHOES PEERING OUT, PANDEMONIUM BROKE LOOSE. THEY STARTED FRANTICALLY TO TEAR OUT ALL THE CONCRETE TO FREE THE BODY OF THE MAN THEY WERE CONVINCED THEY HAD BURIED, ONLY TO DISCOVER WITH MIXED EMOTIONS THAT IT WAS JUST A PAIR OF SHOES. WORD OF THE INCIDENT GOT OUT TO THE NEWSPAPERS, AND THAT'S HOW THE STORY OF A MAN BEING BURIED IN THE CENTRAL ANCHORAGE OF THE SUSPENSION BRIDGE CAME TO PASS. 39 |
