OCR Text	Show OVER TIME THE BOARD WAS ENRICHED BY THOSE THAT REPRESENTED THE BEST OF UNITED STATES BUSINESSMEN - ERNIE ARBUCKLE, FRED BORCH, BILL HEWLETT, ARJAY MILLER, JACK PARKER. IN MY VIEW THERE WAS NO MORE EFFECTIVE BOARD ON THE U. S. CORPORATE SCENE. FORTUNATELY THE QUALITY HAS BEEN MAINTAINED WITH THE TWO NEW DIRECTORS - CARL REICHARDT AND DON BOWER - WHO HAVE REPLACED THOSE THAT WERE RETIRED. THE UTAH BOARD CAN BE A GREAT ASSET TO BHP IF YOU USE IT PROPERLY AND ASK IT THE RIGHT QUESTIONS. AND I HAVE REASON TO BE GRATEFUL TO AUSTRALIA, FOR AUSTRALIA WAS GOOD TO UTAH JUST AS I FERVENTLY BELIEVE UTAH WAS GOOD FOR AUSTRALIA. FROM MY VERY FIRST TRIP IN 1951 I BECAME CONVINCED THAT AUSTRALIA OFFERED THE BEST IN INVESTMENT CLIMATES - OPPORTUNITY, RULE BY LAW, ANGLO-SAXON ETHICS AND MORALITY. THIS WAS REINFORCED BY MY MEETING WITH THE TREASURER OF THE COMMONWEALTH AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE PRIME MINISTER WHO ASSURED ME THAT FOREIGN COMPANIES WOULD BE TREATED THE SAME AS DOMESTIC COMPANIES. THAT WAS ALL UTAH ASKED. WE SOUGHT NO SPECIAL ADVANTAGES. 4.
