Show HEAD TABLE INTROS SINCE THIS IS NOT VIENNA NIGHT (LAST WEEK) OR BIG GAME NIGHT (NEXT WEEK), ALL OF THESE GOOD- LOOKING GENTLEMEN AT THE HEAD TABLE MUST HAVE SOME CONNECTION WITH THE BRIDGE. THEY DO, AND SOME MORE DIRECTLY THAN OTHERS. ON MY FAR RIGHT, DAVE SMITH. DAVE'S HAD A RAGING LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE BAY BRIDGE SINCE HIS COLLEGE DAYS AT DARTMOUTH. WITH AND WITHOUT PERMISSION, HE TOOK BOTH STILL PHOTOGRAPHS AND MOVIES OF THE BRIDGE DURING ITS CONSTRUCTION, AND GAVE ONE OF HIS SPEECHES IN PUBLIC SPEAKING AT DARTMOUTH ON THE BUILDING OF THE BRIDGE. A RETIRED INVESTMENT COUNSELOR, DAVE BADGERED THE JINKS COMMITTEE FOR A YEAR TO SET ASIDE A THURSDAY NIGHT TO CELEBRATE THE BRIDGE. HE'S ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIVER'S SUIT IN THE LOBBY AND MANY OF THE PICTURES. YOU GOT YOUR WISH, DAVE. TAKE A BOW. 5. |
