The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show George’s midnight “fadeouts” earned him the nickname “Cinderella” and that didn’t make him feel any better, as he told another guest to whom he related his story. The guest listened sympathetically to the “Cinderella” story and then gave George a word of encouragement on the value of his training. Trained men were needed, he told him, because “life saving is like fighting a fire. What is done in those first few precious minutes often means the difference between success and failure.” How George found the truth in those words at the same time saved his romance, is told in this absorbing story titled “Cinderella.” Robert North, a talented newcomer to the ranks of Hollywood and radio stardom, is featured in the role of George. “Errand of Mercy” is presented each week at the same time by Station _______ which offers it in the public service and in cooperation with the ___________ Chapter of the American Red Cross. The more of us who take first aid and water safety training, the more certainty there will be that, whenever and wherever an accidents happens, a trained worker will get there in those first few vital moments. Your life may be saved, tomorrow, because some is taking safety training today. MUSIC: IN ANNOUNCER: that was Robert North, our star in “Errand of Mercy.” Our story was based on facts from Red Cross files.
