The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show American Red Cross WEBER COUNTY CHAPTER OGDEN, UTAH February 17, 1950 The Protestant Churches Ogden, Utah Dear Friend: The time has arrived for the annual Red Cross Fund Campaign in our city. People want to help. When specific needs are dramatized, or when they find a neighbor in want, the response is spontaneous and generous. One of the sources of difficulty in a campaign such as the one we are about to enter upon lies in the fact that the need is so vague and general as to lose its personal appeal. A word from you, the minister, whether in your church calendar, a public announcement, or by news letter; will do much to personalize the appeal. While almost everyone shares the “milk of human kindness”, Christian people have a higher motive for giving. They who follow compassionate Christ, will follow Him in this service also. We are asking that the announcement be made next Sunday, February 26. If you need further information in the preparation of your announcement, the splendid booklet, “Here Are the Facts” is available at the Weber County Chapter office; or we shall be glad to secure a copy for you.
