The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Red Cross Campaign Workers Gather for First Meeting Division workers of the forth- coming Weber county American Red Cross fund drive, gathered at the chapter home, 1961 Washington, Tuesday evening for their first meeting. Featured speaker was Edwin H. Carroll, San Francisco, assistant manager of the Pacific area. He: told workers of the work being done in Utah and particularly praised work done by officials and volunteer workers of the local chapter in past drives. Gene Robinson, chairman of this year's drive, which opens March 6, was in charge of the meeting. He announced that headquarters for the drive would be opened in the Ben Lomond hotel, Feb. 27. Meanwhile, volunteer women workers have been preparing sup¬plies and equipment which will be distributed to the division work¬ers in the near future. Some mate-rial was distributed to workers Tuesday night. Heading the workers making pre- liminary preparations is Mrs. Hazel Fleming. They serve you! AMERICA’S RED CROSS! . . . “A strong Red Cross means a stronger America,” says general Marshall, president of this great organization. Let’s give generously again this year and meet Weber county’s quota of $44,865. Around 500 volunteer workers wills tart the 1950 drive, Monday, March 6. Let each of us do our part!
