The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show American Red Cross WEBER COUNTY CHAPTER OGDEN, UTAH February 10, 1950 Dear Friend: The annual Red Cross drive in Weber County, opens March 6, and closes March 20. The national goal is 85 sixty-seven million dollars. Our local quota will be $53,900. 51779 The program of the Red Cross is as essential as ever. Boys, forgotten by so many, are still maintained at government hospitals, and must be given attention to keep up their morale. Servicemen still have family problems and look to their local chapter for assistance. Veterans, who have no other alternative, turn to the Red Cross in time of need. Disasters happen every day – your dollars help these stricken people. It could happen here. We appreciate all that you have done in the past and earnestly solicit your club gift this year.
