Show STATEMENT OF GENERAL OF THE ARMY OMAR N. BRADLEY FOR THE 1952 RED CROSS FUND CAMPAIGN Americans have always opened their hearts, their homes and their purses to those in need. During 1951 with the helping hand of the American Red Cross, they assisted many families and friends whom they little expected would he in need. The boy next door, wounded in Korea, returned home safely, thanks to the blood donated by his neighbor and sent to the battlefield by the Red Cross. In my native state of Missouri and adjacent Kansas more than 2k,000 families were helped during the floods that ravaged that area. These are but a few of the many services the Red Cross performed for us. In March the Red Cross will turn again to the people of America for funds to carry on the work it performs in their name. Its task is even larger this year. As an Honorary Vice Chairman of the Government Unit for the campaign, I call upon every American to respond generously. This selfless, humanitarian work merits our full support. Omar N. Bradley General of the Army Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff |
