Show SMALLER EMERGENCIES find your Red Cross ready, too. Frank Hart, left—demonstrating proper bandaging technique—is one of 2,600 people trained in first aid last year by the Weber County chaptcr. He and Raymond Rudd, right, are employees at our Ogden mill. The Red Cross prevents accidents, too, through safety, swimming, and life-saving programs. It's easy to see that the Red Cross makes countless contributions to the welfare of Weber County people. It richly deserves all the financial support you can give it right novvl THESE MODERN "MINUTE AEN" are constantly on call when disaster strikes in the Ogden area. They arc F. Maurice Abbott, Herbert Christensen, and C. L. Garbctt.. .all members of the volunteer reserve motor corps of the Red Cross ... all workers at the General Mills Ogden plant. Blizzards, floods, fires—emergencies like these find the Red Cross ready with a skilled hand, a warm heart, and needed equipment and supplies. Often each month, veterans arc transported to the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. YOU CAN SEE ONE of these new ways in this picture—Nurse Elizabeth Gardner;'bile of 3.1 nurses recruited since last September at St. Bcncdict's Hospital to help fight polio. With her is Mrs. O. C. Hammond, volunteer nurse "recruiting officer" for the Red Cross here. But helping polio victims get well is typical of many vitally important jobs your Red Cross handles so ably. It prevents disease and treats' illness in Weber County homes through home nursing service training. It brightens up nearby military posts and hospitals. It gives counsel and financial help to the men who are, or were, in uniform — 4,500 of them last year. Now the Red Cross needs your help— financial help in current drive to raise $47,992 to carry on its priceless work. |
