HE NEVER REALIZED THAT JUST BECAUSE IT WAS BROKE AND YOU'D FIXED IT THAT YOU WERE STILL WELCOME TO STAY. I CITE THESE FRAILTIES RECOGNIZING THAT TO ERR IS HUMAN. ERNIE WAS HUMAN - NOT PERFECT - JUST ALMOST PERFECT. ERNIE WAS AN UNCOMMON MAN WITH THE COMMON TOUCH. HE WAS UNCOMMON BECAUSE HE DID SO MANY THINGS SO SUPERBLY WELL. THIS IN PART STEMMED FROM HIS COMMON TOUCH - HIS INFINITE CAPACITY TO MAKE FRIENDS INSTANTLY AND TO KEEP THEM FOREVER. ABOVE ALL ERNIE BELIEVED THAT PEOPLE WERE IMPORTANT AND YOU SENSED IT EVERY MINUTE YOU WERE WITH HIM. YOU KNEW THAT TO HIM YOU MATTERED AND THAT HE WOULD REACH OUT TO HELP YOU IF HE COULD. THERE ARE THOUSANDS WHO WILL ATTEST THAT HE DID. HE NEVER DEMANDED ANYTHING FROM YOU. HE SIMPLY DELIGHTED IN DOING SOMETHING FOR YOU. 4.
