Show THE FACT THAT ERNIE WAS SO UNCOMMON A MAN GIVES SPECIAL MEANING TO THE AWARD NAMED IN HIS HONOR. IN THE YEARS TO COME OTHERS MUST BE SURE THAT THE STANDARDS ERNIE INSISTED UPON BE PRESERVED. BUT THIS YEAR WAS NO PROBLEM BECAUSE ERNIE PERSONALLY PRESIDED OVER THE SELECTION PROCESS AND WAS VERY WELL PLEASED WITH THE CHOICE. WELL HE SHOULD BE. THE MCCOYS ARE NO STRANGERS TO THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AT STAMFORD. SIX OF THE CLAN HAVE EARNED THEIR MBA'S HERE. NOR ARE THE MCCOYS STRANGERS TO BANKING. OUR HONOREE TONIGHT - JOHN G. MCCOY SUCCEEDED HIS FATHER JOHN H. AS THE HEAD OF THE CITY NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF COLUMBUS, OHIO. JOHN G. MBA 1937, HAS IN TURN BEEN SUCCEEDED AS CEO BY HIS SON JOHN B., MBA 1967. BROTHER CHUCK, STANFORD MBA 1944, FACED THE PROBLEM COMMON TO THE YOUNGER SONS OF BRITISH NOBLE FAMILIES. THE ELDEST SON GETS FOR THE YOUNGER SON THE TITLE AND IT WAS THE MILITARY OR THE CHURCH. BUT BANKING RUNS STRONG IN THE MCCOY BLOOD SO CHUCK LEFT THE FAMILY INSTITUTION AND NOW IS CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE LOUISIANA NATIONAL BANK IN BATON ROUGE. 11. |
