Show kind of a daily dalliance with the investment banker having a promiscuous number of partners. You'll be shocked by the stud fees they'll charge you for what they do but like the mare it's a service that you can't get along without. With these players in place, take the next step. With great stealth you and your financial associates each acquire stock of the target company on the open market. Stay just under the limits that trigger the requirement to disclose or you will alert the innocent owners of your intentions. This purchase is the most painful part of the process because it often requires the use of your own money. Then get a friendly security analyst to issue a report saying that the stock looks cheap compared to its breakup value. Next, start the rumors that the target company is in play. The merest whiff of trouble will bring on the arbitrageurs who will circle the target like a flock of buzzards. Unsuspecting shareholders whose patience is already worn thin with the dull performance of their investment will jump at a chance to dump their stock on any early upward price movement. The arbitrageurs are there ready to buy. Suddenly the good old company has a set of new owners. The majority of the stock will be in the hands of those looking to make a quick buck and devoid of any sentimentality about the "fine old company.". The rumors and the unusual trading activity will not be lost on the target company management. Count on the fact that even the most dim-witted will have the situation brought to their attention by investment bankers. The target will show signs of extreme nervousness and start assembling a team to help it defend the parapets. They will 5. |
