Morgan, chairman (left) and Leon Manning, vice chair-man. Industrial Division Heads Directing activities of the Industrial division of the 1950 Weber county Red Cross fund drive are Walter R. Davis (left) vice chair-man, and Leonard C. Tillotson, chairman. Twenty workers in the division have started collections. Industrial workers in Weber county are being given an opportunity to participate in the 1950 American Red Cross fund drive through the efforts of 20 volunteers. Headed by Leonard C. Tillotson, chairman, and Walter R. Davis, vice chairman, the division made its first report at a luncheon today in Hotel Ben Lomond. Team captains in the division are: David B. Handy, W. W. Purrington, James H. Bischoff and R. L. Van Cleave. “We have received excellent response from those firms already contacted,” Chairman Tilltoson stated. “We hope all others will give the same cooperation and put the 1950 Red Cross drive over the top.” Heading the drive this year is Gene Robinson. The goal is $44,865. 3-3-50 First Report Session Set Monday Noon First report luncheon of the 1950 Weber county, American Red Cross fund drive will be held Monday, March 6, at noon in the Hotel Ben Lomond ballroom, it was reported today by Gene Robinson, general chairman. All division chairmen and vice chairman are expected to attend the luncheon to give reports on collections to date. Chairman Rob¬inson will be in charge of the luncheon. Dr. H. A. Dixon of We¬ber college will be the speaker.- Meanwhile, making collections rom personnel of small businesses and offices in Weber county are some 35 workers of the men's di¬vision. James S. Morgan, chairman; and Leon" Manning, vice chairman, said team captains had gotten their workers into activity. Team captains assisting the chair¬man are: Ralph J. Lowe, Charles C. Eubank, Howard Green and Wilbur Cook. "Expenditures by the American Red Cross in aiding our fellowmen have been high," Chairman Morgan stated. "In disasters m a single year the organization, spent $7,640,- 200. Other services are as fol¬lows: For armed services, $18,214,700; for veterans, $17,137,600; to promote health, $7,300,800, and for children, $938,166." |
