2. These course are all free to the public and involve a great deal of time and energy on pat of the instructor. Many lives have been saved in the knowledge of these services. Home Nursing Unit I. teaches how to prevent disease and care for illness in the home. Unit II. teaches mother and baby care. 599 persons received certificates last year in Unit I. 18 Nurses completed training in order to teach these courses. Girls of both the Ogden High and Weber high were taught Home Nursing in the schools. There is no charge for these courses. Many parents took advantage of this training. Camp and Hospital This committee is responsible for service to the armed forces in station hospitals, on posts, and veteran hospitals. Last year our chapter furnished the table decorations for the dinning room of the veterans hospital at Salt Lake and gave 24 beautifully wrapped shaving kits for sick veterans as its share of gifts. 75lbs. of candy were sacked and given to patients in station hospitals at Clearfield and Hill Field and a lovely gift was given to every patient at the hospital. 24 prizes were given for bingo parties at the veterans hospital. 9 hospital trains, carry sick and invalid serviceman passed through Ogden, and at the request of the Commanding Office were met at the depot by volunteers of this committee. They were given candy, ice cream, news papers, magazines, soda water and other items. These forgotten boys were very appreciative of these services. Motor Corps Our motor corps is on the job 24 hours daily meeting all emergencies. An average of eight trips per week are made transporting veterans to the veterans hospital in Salt Lake, children to clinics at American Fork and Bountiful, tuberculosis patients for tests at the Sanitorium and the blind to a class held each week at the State School. About 416 trips were made last year. Production This committee knitted 24 sweaters and made 24 pairs of pajamas for veterans in hospitals and are now in the process of making skirts for Indian children on reservations. Quotas are filled at the request of the National office.
