Show AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR WASHINGTON, D. C. Thousands of working families in this country are personally and intimately acquainted with the services of the American Red Cross. At home and abroad in 1951, the Red Cross performed acts of help and relief for our sons and daughters in the armed forces and for families stricken by disaster and mis¬fortune . Whether the need was in Korea battle zones or flood stricken areas of our own great United States, the Red Cross supplied the manpower and the means to relieve suffering and distress. To maintain these services at their peak efficiency, to meet all of the varied demands for assistance, the Red Cross must raise $85,000,000 in its 1952 campaign. I urge all members of the American Federation of Labor to contribute as generously as their means will allow to the 1952 Red Cross Appeal. George Meany Secretary-Treasurer |
