The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Don't procrastinate. 3. CALL IN PERSON. This is good salesmanship. Telephone calls or letters do not produce results. See your prospects; convince them; secure their gifts. 4. APPROACH YOUR PROSPECTS WITH CONFIDENCE. Remember people have shown that they want to give to the Red Cross. Don't avoid anyone because you think he will turn you down; let him decide. 5. BE FRIENDLY, PERSISTENT, SINCERE. You have a great story to tell; be proud of your part in this work. This is a fine unselfish effort on your part to help a great cause. 6. THINK SUCCESS! Your conviction will convince others. Be enthusiastic. Genuine interest and conviction are contagious. 7. HEAD THE LIST WITH YOUR OWN SUBSCRIPTION. They will know you mean it then. Wear your lapel tab to show you are a contributor. 8. PLAN YOUR CALLS AND YOUR PRESENTATION. . Plan when you will make your calls; set your sights high enough; plan what you are going to say. Make a report on all cards or territory assigned you. 9. SEE YOUR BEST PROSPECTS FIRST. They will lift the level of giving. Their gifts will encourage everyone, including you. 10. ASK DEFINITELY FOR THE GIFT. |
