The Council approved Ordinance 2014-01 adopting a franchise agreement with Syringa. This company is in the process of updating fiber optic lines which run to a cell tower on 1200 W to create more power and faster service for Sprint customers. A Development and Host Fee Agreement for the construction and operation of Tear- Apart was approved in the amount of $1.00 per recycled car at the facility. Grant projects for 2014 were discussed: CDBG funds to install Marriott park parking lot and RAMP funds to install facilities at the 1700 S trail head.
