Show Marriott-Slaterville City History August 2014 Planning Commission Meeting- August 19, 2014: Gerald Hoth, one of the co-owners of the Town House Estates, requested a plan modification for the Estates. He is asking that Lot 31R be changed from a single family unit to a duplex. This change will not increase the number of units, as some of the others units have been eliminated. The change was approved by the Commission. A Public Hearing was held regarding a possible General Plan amendment request from Derrick Oman. Mr. Oman would like the area between 1200 West and 1700 South to be zoned commercial rather than manufacturing. After the public comments and discussion amongst Planning Commission members a motion was made to table this issue until a better definition of the options is available. A Public Hearing was also held on a zoning map amendment for Mulligan's/Toad's located at 1690 West 400 North from residential and commercial to open space. The Commission approved the amendment to change the parcel to Open Space [0-1]. Commission and staff follow-up: A bid has been awarded to Post Asphalt Paving for a new parking lot at the Marriott Park. The project is being funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The 17th Street River Project, which is being funded by R.A.M.P. should soon go out for bids. Vice-Chair Meyerhoffer asked who maintains the weeds on the side of the roads and was told that the City contracts with the county to keep them mowed down twice a year. Trent Meyerhoffer was asked what the status is on the Morris Meadows Subdivision. He said a Pre- Construction Meeting was held recently and once the issues from that meeting are resolved, he expects work to begin. City Council Meeting-August 21,2014: Business Licenses for Safety First Auto, Senske Lawn Tree Care, and Ajillis, Inc. were approved by the Council. Mayor Butler indicated that the budget approved at the last Council meeting is the latest financial report, as there have been no changes. It was also reported that Rich Adam and Kim Slater were in the process of renewing the financial bond with the Utah Local Governments Trust, and the bond amount is being increased to reflect the increase in reserve funds. Mr. Morris reported that he met with Lt. Burns from the Weber County Sheriff's Office and they visited the Real Time Crime Center. The city is attempting to have our city cameras feed into that system so the city parks and office would be under surveillance 24/7, with the hopes that this may help with the vandalism at the parks. There is no additional cost for this service, as it is included in the sheriffs contract. Staff also reviewed the fees, revenue, usage and expenditures from parks, open space and trails, as well as a survey of park rental fees from surrounding cities. There was discussion regarding complaints the city has received about the weddings Regina Smout Carver has and how it affects the Slaterville Park. Mr. Morris said he has talked with Regina about these |
