Planning Commission Meeting - September 16, 2014 Regina Smout Carver has been holding weddings at the Green Barn Gardens located at 195 N 2250 W, but this use does not conform to the city ordinances. Mrs. Carver now desires to rent her property out to individuals for short periods of time, which would include small parties or photography. The Planning Commission approved the changes in use with certain stipulations. Derrick Oman was seeking a possible General Plan Amendment for his facility located between 1200 S and 1700 S to change it to a commercial zone. Four options showing what expanded commercial would look like were presented by staff to the Planning Commission. The Commission approved Option 4, which includes the frontage portions of 1200 W between the railroad tracks and 1700 S, as well as all of the Marriott-Slaterville Business Park. This option allows the phasing out of manufacturing uses in the Business Park and converts them to commercial. It also incorporates an overall area where commercial business is occurring. Commission and staff follow-up: A ULCT training meeting will be held on October 8, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Harrisville City offices. Spouses are invited to attend. The City will pay for the commissioners, with reimbursement for spouses. Mr. Schofield asked if the City would check on the activity occurring at a building next to his house, which is located on the Green property. He said there is also a weed problem. Mr. Meyerhoffer commented on the weed problem at the proposed Morris Meadows Subdivision. Mr. Morris responded that a pre-construction meeting was held with the developers and they have been made aware of the problem. |
