Reservations for the Ogden Temple open house begins Monday By JaNAE FRANCIS Standard-Examiner staff OGDEN — With all the excitement demonstrated already for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ogden Temple open house, area officials are advising residents to reserve their tickets early for the days they prefer for the tour. The temple open house will run from Aug. 1 to Sept. 6 at the temple located at 350 22nd Street in Ogden. Reservations will be taken online beginning at 10 a.m. Monday at https:// templeopenhouse.lds.org/ tickets. Elder Craig Fisher, area seventy and chairman of the rededication committee, said he believes the open house will be a huge success. "We feel like it's just going to be a marvelous event," Fisher said. "We are going to have anywhere from 500,000 to 700,000 people and they will come from surrounding states." He said southwest Wyoming is part of the Ogden Temple district and organizers expect many to come from Wyoming as a result. The church will need 22,000 ushers just to orchestrate an event this large, Fisher said. "We are excited and pleased," he said. "We are encouraging all our friends of other faiths. We are certainly inviting as many as we can to come and join us at the temple." And Fisher said those who visit will not be disappointed. "It's a beautiful facility," he said. He said the open house will be facilitated and See TEMPLE , Page 3C Temple From 1C enhanced by the rebuilt tabernacle too. "We will gather in the tabernacle and will get them acquainted with what they are about to see," Fisher said, noting his ap- . preciation for the large building. "We have all of the temple square here in Ogden, much like in Salt Lake City," he said. "That tabernacle is really a wonderful monument." He said many other temples don't have such a nice facility nearby and that the building will be an attraction in and of itself as well as a nice area to begin the open house. "The tabernacle has a beautiful organ," he said. "The same people that built the conference center organ have built this one much like it," he said. He said the temple tour will include about 15 minutes in the tabernacle and then about a half hour to 45 minutes in the temple. You may reach JaNae Francis at 801-625-4228.
