Show Marriott-Slaterville City History September 2014 Mr. Meyerhoffer asked why the new parking lot at the Marriott Park does not have more parking spaces. Mr. Morris indicated that 1200 West will be widened there, and that the landscaping will not be part of the current grant. City Council Meeting-September 18, 2014 Craig Dearden from Weber County gave a presentation on the Weber County RAMP program. th The RAMP initiative will be on the upcoming ballot on November 4 . It's very important that all citizens be informed about this wonderful program. RAMP is an acronym for recreation, arts, museums and parks and refers to a tax initiative the voters in Weber County passed in November 2004. It authorizes Weber County to receive one penny in retail sales tax on every ten dollar purchase. The money is collected yearly in a RAMP "pot" and is directly invested into community projects through a grant process. Every citizen in Weber County benefits from RAMP. Gerald Hoth, developer of the Townhouse Estates located at 1025 S 1200 W is proposing to amend Lot 31R at this address, which would change it from a single unit to a double unit. The City Council approved this amendment subject to City Engineer and County Recorder/Surveyor requirements. Staff reviewed and adopted the 2014-15 Capital Investments Plan for completed projects, one year proposed projects, and five to ten year proposed projects. The Halloween Trunk-or-Treat is on track for Friday, October 31, 2014. It will be held at the Slaterville Park. Residents who bring candy will not have to pay a $1 entry fee, but this year we will charge $1 for everyone who buys a hot dog. The event will begin at 6:00 pm with a fire truck and sirens. Officer report and legislative oversight: Mayor Butler said striping of the roads will be done during the second week of October. Fall clean-up will be October 18th and 19th at the Slaterville and Marriot Parks where dumpsters will be available for residents use. Mayor Butler recognized the amount of time Becky and Trent spend on the parks on weekends and thanked them for it. Mr. Slater expressed concern about the following issues: • The amount of dirt that Buttars is hauling on to his property. He can haul as much on it as he wants, but he can be fined $1000/day if he begins to haul dirt off the property. • He has seen a Marriott-owned dump truck hauling what appears to be sewer sludge to the sewer plant. The City was not aware of that. • The compost pit has been moved to the landfill. |
