Show Marriott-Slaterville History May 2014 The City has obtained a RAMP grant for the Centennial Trail Head on 1700 S. Weber County has provided an interlocal agreement for this grant. The City Council approved this Resolution. Mr. Morris presented the tentative budget for the Pioneer Special District for the year ending June 30, 2014. The City council approved the FY 2014-15 tentative budget for the District and set a Public Hearing for June 19, 2014 on the final budget. Mr. Morris reviewed the proposed FY 2013-14 amended budget and the proposed FY 2014-15 tentative budget with the council. A Public Hearing was set for June 19, 2014 for both. Activities for the upcoming Fourth of July Celebration were discussed. Mayor Butler reported that the City Hall building will be re-painted this week. The City Park garden cleanup is scheduled for this coming Saturday and volunteers have been requested to help. The recent dumpster cleanup at Marriott and Slaterville Parks was a success, but unfortunately both parks were a big mess, which Waste Management cleaned up when they picked up the dumpsters. Mayor Butler commended Waste Management for their outstanding customer service. Trent has had several problems with the city water systems this spring. A new filter was installed at the Spencer Farms reservoir last year which will hopefully eliminate the problems they have been having there. Mayor Butler announced that the Veteran's Nursing Home has invited the Council members to attend a memorial service to be held there next Saturday, May 24, 2014. Steve Young will be the keynote speaker. Mr. Slater asked that Trent be notified that Mill Creek is backing up again due to another beaver dam, and he will be happy to help him if needed. Mr. Slater said he has received several inquiries regarding a possible subdivision being built on Buttar's property. The Mosquito Abatement District will be distributing an informational flyer in all the newspapers. These will also be available at the City office. Mr. Hodson volunteered to help with the cleanup at the City gardens this weekend. Mr. Van Leeuwen volunteered to help as well and thanked all the city staff for the hard work they do. Mayor Butler said the sewer pipe has been installed under the freeway and they are in the process of building a huge lift station at the sewer plant. Pres. Illume commented on the condition of several roads within the City. |
