Show Marriott-Slaterville City History August 2014 problems and thinks the events will be limited in the future to small family activities and photos instead of weddings. The CDBG bid for the Marriott Park parking lot came in at $99,000. Since we only have $55,000 available in CDBG funds, the project will be scaled back. Mr. Meyerhoffer reported that West Haven is installing a trail to the southwest into Davis County and our trail system will go northwest to Plain City. The property north of 12th Street is not subject to any trails until it is developed or the property owners consent. Traffic signal warrant criteria were discussed for the intersection at 400 North and 1200 West. The City seeks to have a survey completed approximately every 5 years. Pres. Ilium instructed staff to delay a survey at this intersection for another year in light of local construction, the closure of a local school and other related issues that may affect the accuracy of such a study. Mr. Hodson indicated that farm equipment cannot get through the stop light at 1200 West and 1200 South because the lights turn too fast. Mr. Morris reported that a new sound system and computer equipment are being installed in the City offices with money that was allocated in the new budget. Pres. Ilium asked if funds were available for a projector and screen; this will be explored with any remaining funds once the computer and sound system are installed. A motion was approved by the Council to authorize the expenditure to repair 1600 West from 400 North past Pioneer Elementary, up to the maximum bid amount of $60,000 proposed by Post Construction. A motion was approved to amend the zoning map for Mulligan's/Toad's located at 1690 West 400 North from residential and commercial entirely to open space (O-l). The Open Space zone would allow the property tax to be reduced. Follow-up report on the Fourth of July was discussed, including some suggestions for next year to make it even better. Officer report and legislative oversight: The Ogden Raptors baseball game for the Council and WACOG will be held this month. Pres. Ilium asked about the road closure notification for the sewer line which is to be installed across 1200 West. Mr. Van Leeuwen thanked staff and the Council for designing such a wonderful building (the City Offices), as he recently rented the building and was impressed with the structure. Mr. Hodson commented on how bad the mosquitoes are. He also asked if Central Weber Sewer paid for the road damaged caused during their reconstruction projects and staff indicated that they did contribute to the cost of road damage.
