Show Marriott-Slaterville City History December 2014 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History December 2014 It was a dull December for snow, with near-record warmth and drought conditions, until just before Christmas. Like a flip of a switch, Mother Nature supplied Northern Utah with a month-long amount of snowfall in a couple of days, followed by bone-chilling cold. In his annual Christmas Message to the City, Mayor Butler recognized the many community volunteers, residents, businesses and city staff who make our City a success. The annual Breakfast with Santa was held in the Senior Center on Saturday, December 13, 2014 with a special visit from the Jolly Old Man himself. Those who attended were treated to a breakfast of pancakes, ham, eggs, donuts and cereal prepared by Shauna Meyerhoffer and her elves—Glen, DJ, Karen, Jacelee, Kyson, Stacee, and Tyler Meyerhoffer, and McKenlee Davis. The City's General Plan for a portion of 1200 West, south of the railroad tracks, has been amended to allow for future development. If anyone is interested in volunteer opportunities there are several available in the City. Planning Commission Meeting Planning Commission Meeting for December was cancelled. City Council Meeting-December 18.2014 The Council approved the new 2015 meeting schedule. Presentation and discussion/action on the Annual Independent Audit was postponed until January 2015. Mr. Morris explained Resolution 2014-K entering the Utah Transportation Coalition to the Council. There is an estimated $11 billion shortfall in transportation revenue in Utah. After discussion Council members voted to support the resolution, with 3 for and 2 against.
