Show Marriott-Slaterville History June 2014 A school administration/financial office is proposed for Venture Academy located at 1500 W 405 N. The site plan is being amended from a one-story building to a two-story building, along with some shared access roads. This was approved contingent on required agency letters and City Engineer site review. A site plan amendment for Old Castle (Amcor) located at 801 W 1200 S was approved. This will allow construction of a roof extension over the existing crane. Derrick Oman requested that the General Plan be amended to accommodate his business on West 17 Street. He was told that this would require a Public Hearing. Historically, no request to open the General Plan has been approved in the past and Chair Syme expressed his concern about doing it for one person and not others. At the June 19, 2014 City Council Meeting, business licenses were approved for the following: Bucks & Bulls Guides & Outfitters, Inc Stone Mountain - Dustin John, Handyman Lt. Burns from the Weber County Sheriff's Office addressed the Council, indicating that he is now the new North Precinct Officer since Lt. Morrow left. Sgt. Jake Sube from the Ogden Metro Gang Task Force gave a slide presentation to the council members. Judge Pat Lambert reported on the Washington Terrace/Marriott-Slaterville Justice Court. A Public Hearing followed by discussion/action on Resolution 2014-E for the adoption of FY 2014-15 final budget for the Pioneer Special District was held. The Resolution was adopted unanimously. A Public Hearing was also held on Resolution 2014-F for the adoption of FY 2013-14 amended budget, followed by discussion/action. The Resolution was approved unanimously. A Public Hearing followed by discussion/action on Resolution 2014-G for the adoption of FY 2014-15 final budget was held and approved unanimously. A resolution to limit park and building rentals within the City for the remainder of 2014 was discussed by the Council. The City has experienced increased vandalism and rule violations at the parks and building facilities, and as a result they would like to impose a cooling-off period to evaluate procedures in an attempt to curb these activities. The Mayor and City Council feel that it is in the best interests of the City to take these measures to protect public funds and facilities, and reduce vandalism. A resolution to limit the reservation of City parks and building facilities to residents of the City only, beginning July 1, 2014 until January 1, 2015 was approved by the Council, with one dissenting vote. |
